Lying about Santa Claus

Lying about Santa Claus

Wrapping up Another Year of Pagan Tradition!

Well, it is ‘christmas’ again, now things can finally start getting back to normal.

I can’t lie, I’m not a big fan of the pagan ‘holiday’ and all of the lies and deception that go along with it.  I am a big fan of family, and getting together with those I love so it’s not all bad.

When it comes to putting up the pagan tree, santa throwing up all over the inside of my home, having to be subjected to the crappy music, the spirit of commercialism, the horrible traffic, and the focus on deceiving our children and grandchildren into believing in a fat man with a white beard and a red suit I am the first to tell you… I hate ‘christmas’.

Where is Santa in the bible?
Where are you in the bible?

My Truth and the Grief

I grew up being told the truth about the meaning of christmas, it’s pagan origins. Thank God my parents did not engage in elaborate attempts to deceive me into believing the lie of santa. I am very grateful to them for being honest with  me and knowing better.

I was told at a very early age that ‘Santa’ was not real, and when I grew up and got married my wife and I had to talk about ‘celebrating’ christmas after having our first child.  I made a deal with her, we could get a tree, decorate, and exchange gifts with one another but we would tell our children the truth about it being a pagan holiday, we would NOT lie to them, and we WOULD tell them that ‘Santa Clause’ was not real.

Oh how I got (and still do get) grief about this.   My wife doesn’t care but when it comes to extended family and spouses of my adult children and their families it has been made clear that I am the bad guy for not “letting the children believe in Santa”.  Even more than that, I have been warned to not interfere with their desires to lie to my grandchildren about the bearded magic man who really is nothing more than a caricature of the christian god.

I’ve agreed not to go out of my way to interfere with these lies, but one thing I will not do is actively participate in them.  If I am asked a direct question, my grandchildren will get the truth and I will not apologize to anyone for it.  I was asked last night to take a bite of the goodies left out for the imaginary fat bastard and politely refused.  I didn’t even realize that they were doing this in my home and felt a bit disappointed just for being asked to play a part in the lie.  Oh well, the spirit of deception behind the whole ‘holiday’ is a pernicious one, evil has a way of sneaking in wherever it can.

Santa is a lie, lying is evil
Lying is evil

What’s the Big Deal Anyway?

Well, here is a great quote I found, I have no idea who Mr Dikkers is but the sentiment expressed sums up the problem.

“Be sure to lie to your kids about the benevolent, all-seeing Santa Claus. It will prepare them for an adulthood of believing in God.” – Scott Dikkers

So, you may ask “what’s the big deal, what harm could come from perpetuating the lie of ‘Santa’ anyway?”. Well, I will tell you what the big deal is for me.

I believe in a loving God, one Who created the entire universe. I believe that the Hebrew and Greek scriptures teach that our Heavenly Father is currently in the process of reconciling His entire creation back to Himself, through the finished work of Christ.

Much of the ‘believing’ world and even the entire ‘Christian’ world believes that God is like Santa. They all believe in a mythical bearded man in the sky who is watching over us all and keeping a ledger that will be used in the end to determine our cosmic fate.  This could not be further from the truth and I want to be someone who is on the side of truth. Santa Clause is the perfect caricature of the god of christendumb.

The gODs of cHRISTENBUMB

There are two major flavors of  christendumb:

Calvinism:  These wonderful people follow the theological thought of a man named John Calvin and they worship a god who is a monster who loves a select group and hates everyone else so much that they must be tormented forever for no other reason except that god created them to be hated by himself.  “Oh well” is the best defense that they have when people object to such a god.

Arminianism:  These wonderful people follow the theological thought of a man named Jacobus Arminius and they just could not worship the god of John Calvin so they invented a better version of god who actually loves everyone and does not want anyone to burn in hell forever.  The problem with this god is that he is impotent.  The Arminian god is powerless to actually save anyone because he goofed up and gave his creation a free will and has a magic rule that says he is unable to save anyone against their own personal will.  This way, if the vast majority of his creation ends up being tormented endlessly in ‘hell’ then it’s not his fault.  You see, this shifts the blame onto the creation and shields the creator of any responsibility for evil.  GREAT!

Thank God that God is nothing like the god of Calivinism or the god of Arminianism.  God is responsible for ALL things, this includes Evil!  Don’t get mad at me for saying so, God makes this quite clear in scripture.

Former of light and Creator of darkness, Maker of good and Creator of evil, I, Yahweh, make all these things. – Isaiah 45:7

The Caraciture

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout…

He sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows when you’ve been bad or good so be good…

This is the god of churchiantity in a nutshell.  Their god rewards the good and turns the bad into a lump of coal. Well, alump of coal that remains conscious and able to feel the excruciating pain forever with out end and this is what they call justice. This ‘santa’ god does not love everyone, just the good people.  This ‘santa’ god would love to reward you but is bound by the rules of christenbumb to eternally punish those that die with their names on the naughty list.

Santa Undermines God

Why teach your children that our Heavenly Father is anything like this fat, red, bearded magical buffoon?  The ‘harmless’ santa lie is responsible for so many people seeing god as a magical fictitious man who is there to accept their wish lists! So, when these wishes are not answered the way people want they become disillusioned and question the very existence of God.  Eventually children grow up and learn the truth and realize that their parents lied to them about santa.  Just consider this, your children will grow up to question everything else that you taught them as a result.  Did you teach them that there is a loving God who wants the best for them?  Hmm, well if Santa was a lie, who’s to say that God wasn’t as well?

Santa does not exist, your parents tell lies!

Don’t undermine God.  Even if you don’t give in to the lies and play these tricks on your children there is no guarantee that they will grow up believing what you teach them, whether it is simply your values of right and wrong, or it is about God and scripture.  The government run education system will do it’s best to deceive your children, hollywood will do it’s best to deceive your children, society and popular culture will do their best to convince your children that their parents don’t know right from wrong.  Why assist them by establishing early on that you are willing to deceive your own children?  Don’t lie to your children about Santa, tell the the truth, they can handle it and it might even help them believe what you teach them about God.

Well, I will catch you next time.  – D H

What the bible doesn’t teach?

What the bible doesn’t teach?

Mr Janssen on Facebook had the following to say to my buddy Mr Trumino about what the bible teaches:

“Tony, There is nowhere in the Bible if interpreted correctly that says all people will be saved – you are misleading a lot of people.” – Mr Janssen of Facebook

Well, these 16 verses came to mind right away…

    1. 1 Timothy 2:4 – Our Father in heaven desires that all mankind come to a saving faith.
    2. Isaiah 55:11 -Our Father will accomplish all He desires!
    3. Job 42:1-2 – Our Father’s will to accomplish His desires cannot be thwarted!
    4. 1 Timothy 4:9-11 – Christ is the savior of ALL mankind.
    5. John 19:28 – Christ FINISHED the work of salvation on the cross.
    6. John 1:29 – Christ took away your sin AND the sin of the whole world.
    7. Philippians 2:10 – Every person will accept Christ as Lord!
    8. Genesis 12:2-3 – All the ends of the world shall turn back to God!
    9. 2 Cor 5:19 – God, through Christ, reconciled the world and is no longer counting their sins against them!
    10. Isaiah 2:2 – God’s house shall be established, and ALL nations will flow unto it!
    11. John 1:9 – Christ is the true light, and He will light everyone who has been born!
    12. John 12:32 – If Christ was lifted up, He will draw ALL MANKIND unto Himself.
    13. Romans 11:30-36 – God will have mercy on ALL mankind!
    14. Colossians 1:20 – Christ will reconcile ALL things to Himself, whether in heaven or on earth!
    15. 1 John 2:2 – Christ is the propitiation for our sins and sins of the whole world!
    16. Ephesians 1:10 – Our Father will gather together in one, ALL THINGS in Christ. – Heaven & Earth [The adversary as well]

I don’t think Mr. Janssen has really studied his bible. He would rather believe what the christian system of deception spoon feeds him as truth.

All will be saved, count on it Rex!  (This should make you happy, not angry, what is the matter with people?  Who gets mad at GOOD news!?!?)

Gay Marriage – Thank You God

Gay Marriage – Thank You God

rainbow150Thank God that Gay Marriage is now legal in the US, God has willed it this way so we can be thankful for it! After all, God is in control of His universe.

As for all the venom coming from bible thumping haters, check this out:

Proverbs 6:16-19 [New King James Version]

These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:

  1. A proud look,
  2. A lying tongue,
  3. Hands that shed innocent blood,
  4. A heart that devises wicked plans,
  5. Feet that are swift in running to evil,
  6. A false witness who speaks lies,
  7. And one who sows discord among brethren.

Where is gay marriage or homosexuality?

They are not even on the list! Those who are spewing hatred against the supreme court decision as they thump their poorly translated English bibles are guilty of at least two of the top 7!

Will the real trinity please stand up?

Will the real trinity please stand up?

I am with Martin on most all of the following quote with one exception.

In the quote below, Martin seems to imply that one can become a member of the body by correctly understanding key doctrines.  This is not true, membership to the body of Christ is by God’s choice, not by our acceptance or understanding of the truth.   As I do not believe that there is any person who correctly understands all of God’s truth, I must believe that there are those who have been chosen to be members of the body who wrongly believe some of these false doctrines.

One example: I believe that I am a member of the body of Christ, and I once believed the false doctrine of the trinity.  I was just as chosen before I rejected the trinity as false, as I was after.  This must be true since scripture states that members of the body were chosen before the disruption of the world. (Ephesians 1:4)  With this one minor disagreement, I wholeheartedly believe the rest of what Martin writes here:

“The doctrine of the Trinity, along with the doctrines of free will and eternal torment, are Satan’s masterpieces. I do not think many of my readers realize how sophisticated these doctrines are. These false teachings did not enter the world by accident, neither are they spread haphazardly. They do not confuse as many millions as they do by some trick of human ingenuity. These doctrines emanate from intelligences far greater than our own. They were designed with a specific goal in mind, “to blind the apprehensions of the unbelieving so that the illumination of the evangel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of the invisible God, does not irradiate them” (2 Corinthians 4:4). No, these doctrines are not scattered willy-nilly about the Earth, but are placed with great care and premeditation before vital elements of Paul’s evangel, elements which must be believed for membership in the body of Christ. These doctrines do not stand alone apart from a context. As medicine is encapsulated, thus also is falsehood. Satan has packaged his teachings within the context of a religion—itself of demonic invention—that utilizes the name of Christ. The religion itself is no child’s play, but a systematized deception (Ephesians 4:14). Satan knows well the human craving for order, protocol, and comfort. As long as there is order, protocol, and comfort, there will be acceptance of teaching.”

– Martin Zender

I also feel that Martin leaves out one important false doctrine.  Remove “Eternal Torment” and replace it with “The immortality of he soul” and we find the real trinity of the adversary that is the basis for the teaching of eternal conscious torment.

The trinity of false teachings:

  1. The Trinity (Teaching that the Father is the Son, is the Holy Spirit)
  2. Human “Free Will” (Teaching that God is not in control)
  3. The immortality of the soul (Teaching that death is not really death)

With this trinity, most of christendumb has been myth-taken.   If you can disprove any one of these three false teachings, you are well on your way to understanding the truth that God is Love, and He will reconcile all to Himself, through Christ.  Scripture disproves all three!

DO YOU BELIEVE ALL of God’s Word?

DO YOU BELIEVE ALL of God’s Word?

From “All in All”, on concordant.org: (By A E Knoch)

When I first came to know God I went to the meetings of the “Plymouth Brethren” and learned many a precious truth from them which, at that time, was almost unknown in the nominal churches. The Lord’s coming, the need of “rightly dividing,” a little as to the body of Christ, the difference between the church and the kingdom–these all found a place in my heart and mind at the very beginning of my life of faith. But I also received warnings against “non-eternity,” and “soul-sleep,” and “universalism,” to which I gave due heed.

images2At that early date my life course was determined by the acquisition of Wigram’s Concordances. Next to the Scriptures, they have been of the greatest value in my spiritual development.

These give a list of each word in Greek or Hebrew and all of its occurrences in English. This has been my lexicon, for the usage of a word is the only safe index of its meaning. These also showed how discordant our English translation is and led me to go back to the original.
The Brethren claimed to be unsectarian, but when I persisted in having fellowship with all of good conduct in the body of Christ they put me out, though this was the original basis on which their movement was founded. This proved a great blessing, for I was now free to believe what is in God’s Word apart from all religious restraint.

I had two objects before me: to believe all of God’s Word, and to suffer the persecution which must necessarily follow. I was conscious that there were quite a few texts in the Word which made me uncomfortable. I knew the so-called “explanations,” but they appeared to be only a form of unbelief.

All-In-AllThe salvation of all troubled me from the very first. The Brethren changed God wills all men to be saved, to God wishes, but my concordance showed me that it was the Brethren who wished it so, not God. He works all things according to the counsel of His will. They also altered “the Saviour of all” to “the Preserver of all.” Since it was necessary for them to corrupt God’s Word on this theme it was clear that they did not have the truth. Romans five and First Corinthians fifteen and Colossians one contained statements which I could not believe because they contradicted many other passages dealing with the fate of unbelievers. It was only after the truth as to the eonian times was opened up to me that I was able to exult in their glorious unfoldings.

I now found myself able to accept and approve of those statements in the Bible which stumble so many saints, and cause so much unbelief, which may be concentrated in the one case of Pharaoh. God hardened his heart, and will judge him for doing that which he was forced to do. Is this right?

Not only that, but God was greatly glorified by Pharaoh’s opposition. How then can He judge him? A believer in eternal torment finds it impossible to charge God with such an atrocity, and refuses to believe it, or “explains” it away. But once we see God’s ultimate and that judgment, in God’s Word, sets matters right, all is clear and acceptable. God’s glory demands expression. Pharaoh, earth’s highest, is the best means. He is too soft, so he must be hardened. Eventually, at the consummation, he will be reconciled. But that is not possible until he has realized the enormity of his sins, and suffered their just penalty, set by God Who is just, not vindictive.

But even then I was not satisfied. There were still passages in God’s Word which did not receive my hearty acquiescence. I had a horror of implicating God in sin, so how could I echo the apostle’s words “all is out of Him” (Rom.11:36)? All out of Him–the evil, the misery, the opposition to His will? Yet the passage itself insists that He locks up all in stubbornness (Rom.11:32). Other passages, such as the sixth of Isaiah, boldly tell us that He blinds men’s eyes so that they cannot see. Pharaoh’s is no isolated case. It is very evident that God uses these things in order that His glory may be manifested. Is it then God’s will that men should sin? That cannot be. What is sin?

Once I found out that sin is failure, I saw that I had been making God the greatest of all sinners, so long as I believed that He could not save all, or that He had not been able to keep sin out of the universe, or that it was contrary to His purpose. Failure is sin, and if we imagine that God has failed in any particular we make Him the Sinner of sinners. God will not fail, and has not failed.

The first thought which came to me then was, “shall we, then, do evil that good may come?” Never! But immediately I was reminded that this is the very charge that was hurled at Paul! Could there be any better proof that I was on the right track? God does evil that good may come, for He is wise and powerful and loving. But men are foolish and weak and hateful, so cannot use evil, except in the most limited degree. A father may be trusted to put his child’s finger near enough to the hot stove so as to teach it to fear the fire, for he loves the child. Otherwise it is a most dangerous and erroneous doctrine. But God is not a man. That is the trouble with theology. It is always deifying man and humanizing God.

So it was that I arrived at my goal: to believe all of God’s Word and to suffer persecution like Paul. He was falsely charged with teaching men to do evil (Rom.3:5-8), and he was reproached for saying that God is the Saviour of all mankind (1 Tim.4:10).

But, above all, I now have a real God, Whom I can worship and adore without the least reservation. He harms, but He heals, and both together, the harming as well as the healing, is a blessing to His creatures as well as a glory to Himself.

It is our object to lead our readers to this same goal, where they can accept all of God’s words and give Him all the adoration of their hearts.

John 3:16 & Sunrise Steve

John 3:16 & Sunrise Steve

How it all started, minding my own business!

It was a beautiful day in Roseville California, about noon, 75 degrees Fahrenheit, sunny, with a slight breeze blowing from the south.  I remember how the sun and breeze felt on my face, what a beautiful day to be alive.  I had the day off and decided toJohn3-16 run to the local home improvement store to grab some supplies for a project.  I jumped into the car and headed off on my mission to save our old backyard fire pit from an untimely demise.

That’s when it happened, about six minutes in, as I slowed to stop at the intersection of Sunrise and Douglas Blvd. I spotted him on the far corner to my left.  A well-intentioned, obviously devoted follower of the christian religion holding a sign that read “JOHN 3:16”.  I don’t know him but I’ll refer to him as Sunrise Steve.

For those who have never read it, let’s give it a read in a popular translation:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(Taken out of context and mistranslated, the English words above do not correctly reflect the original Greek, and it is one of the most misused verses in scripture.  But, there are many.)

Steve Cares, so much he does not want you to perish in hell!

My immediate reaction was to feel for Steve, out there on the street corner trying to finish what our Lord and Savior already finished on the cross over two thousand year ago! Then I thought to myself “well, at least Steve is a christian who not only believes in a fiery torture chamber called ‘hell’ but cares enough about humanity to try and warn as many as he can”.

You see, most who believe what Steve believes are content to stand by and allow countless numbers of unsuspecting passersby to continue on a path that these devotees believe leads to eternal torment. Torment at the hands of their “loving” god. But, if they really did believe it, wouldn’t they be spending every waking moment warning those who Christ died to save!?!? At least Steve cares enough to spend some of his free time warning Rosevillites of their impending doom. Well, I give Steve credit for trying, but if he really does care, I should continue to see him on the corner every waking moment of the rest of the days of his life.  My guess is that he will eventually give up, either on God, or his un-saved fellows. His only other options are to come to a knowledge of the truth, or go mad. This false belief is simply too much of a burden for any mere mortal to bear and remain sane.

After all, God needs our help!

The truth is, the savior that Steve believes in needs human help.  That’s how great Steve’s savior is.  With the help of devoted followers like himself, a savior this weak may just eke out a few more souls from the vast majority bound for “hell”. Many of these devotees believe that they will show up at the gates of heaven and be rewarded while they proclaim to god; “look at all that we’ve done for you, and all these that we brought with us!” (uh, see Mathew 7:21, it doesn’t go well!)

Meanwhile, as their teaching goes, while these devotees are in heaven, billions more will writhe in agony in a cosmic torture chamber.  A place they refer to as ‘hell’, a quarantined area in some distant corner of God’s creation that these devoted do insist will exist for all eternity.  Yes, sin and misery will continue in hell forever.  In spite of this, somehow billions of Gods own children screaming, begging, and crying for mercy that will never come, will neither be a blight on said god’s character, nor will it convict such a god of being either a monster, who intended it such, as Calvinists believe, or a weak and pitiful god who could not accomplish his own desire to save all humanity, as most evangelicals believe. I don’t know enough about Steve to say which camp he is in but either way, it’s not a god most of humanity could embrace. This is evidenced by a world of unbelief, you see such teaching drives people away from God, it does not draw them to Him.

I had to stop and share with him the True gospel of our salvation!

What if there were a gospel that truly was good news?!?!  What if there were a distinctly different Gospel than the one Christ brought to Israel during his earthy ministry?

Well, there is!  It was given to the Apostle Paul by our risen Savior. I had to at least try and share this Gospel with Steve,  so, I doubled back and left some literature on Steve’s truck.   It speaks the truth about a gospel worth standing on a street corner to proclaim! Who knows, maybe Steve will read it.  I suspect that it will get thrown in the trash, there is a better than average chance that Steve is not secure enough in his own beliefs to challenge them by searching the scriptures to see if it these things are so!

Most victims of the teachings of orthodox churchianity are brainwashed by a system of deception. Sunrise Steve, and those who believe as he does know nothing about the successful savior that actually died on the Cross for all humanity. The One who finished the work of salvation over two thousand years ago! They cling to their own faith.  A faith in a mere potential savior, one who can only save those who cooperate.  How sad!

So, here are some verses for Sunrise Steve:
  • 1 Timothy 2:4 – Our Father in heaven desires that all mankind come to a saving faith.
  •  Isaiah 55:11 -Our Father will accomplish his desire!
  • Job 42:1-2 – Our Father’s will to accomplish his desires cannot be thwarted!
  • 1 Timothy 4:9-11 – Christ is the savior of ALL mankind.
  • John 19:28 – Christ finished the work of salvation on the cross.
  • John 1:29 – Christ took away the sin of the world.
  • Philippians 2:10 – Every person will accept Christ as Lord!
  • Genesis 12:2-3 – All the ends of the world shall turn back to God!
  • 2 Cor 5:19 – God, through Christ, reconciled you, not counting your sins against you!
  • Isaiah 2:2 – God’s house shall be established, and ALL nations will flow unto it!
  • John 1:9 – Christ is the true light, and will light everyone who has been born!
  • John 12:32 – Christ was lifted up, and will draw ALL MANKIND unto Himself.
  • Romans 11:30-36 – God will have mercy on ALL mankind!
  • Colossians 1:20 – Christ will reconcile ALL things to Himself, weather in heaven or on earth!
  • 1 John 2:2 – Christ is the propitiation for our sins and sins of the whole world!
  • Ephesians 1:10 – Our Father will gather together in one, ALL THINGS in Christ. – Heaven & Earth

Steve,

Check these verses out, study to show yourself approved, an unashamed worker.  Rightly dividing the word of truth. Be like the Bereans who heard these things Paul taught and then searched the scriptures to see if they were true!

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him“. (Eph1:17)

It isn’t our faith that saves us, it is the faith of Christ that saves us.

I challenge you to read what I left on your truck, and I hope you visit this site!  I hope to see you spending a little more of your spare time next week spreading some real good news! Now, I must go back to saving my backyard fire pit from an untimely demise.

I guess I will wish you the best of luck, if you continue in your current beliefs, I am afraid that I must give you my condolences as your efforts to save a few more of souls from god’s celestial out door fire pit are not going to work out too well for you, or for those you are trying to reach. If your are right and the above verses are wrong, we are all in bad shape.

I, on the other hand, am quite confident that Christ and our Heavenly Father have it all covered.  All we need to do is share the true Gospel with the world so that they can rest in freedom and knowledge that God is good, Christ is a complete success, and it all works out well in the end.  Let me assure you that our God can be trusted to deal firmly with transgression, to make right all that is wrong in the world today, and still overcome human will and save every last person on earth, and every last being in heaven!

Now, if I’ve misrepresented your beliefs or position Steve, feel free to comment on this and straighten out any assumptions I’ve made about your beliefs.

Oh, and Steve.  I am not a universalist

– D H

P. S. Here is a more faithful English rendering of John 3:16:

For thus God loves the world, so that He gives His only-begotten Son, that everyone who is believing in Him should not be perishing, but may be having life eonian.”

Notice: This rendering make clear that God still “Loves” the world, not “loved”,  past tense, as the popular versions render it. Also notice that those who do not believe, perish (die), while those who do believe get life for the eons. (after they die)  Believers in this lifetime are the first fruits, the remainder will come in the harvests to follow. Latter harvests that the believers from this eon will play a part in bringing in during the next two ages, or eons.

Not all go to heaven, but ALL will be saved!

Not all go to heaven, but ALL will be saved!

Dear Friend, (An email response to a shocked, but confused friend)goodnewspostit

I just want to clarify what I believe as it is clear to me that many misunderstand me on an important point.  Let me clarify my belief with respect to who “goes to heaven”: because I do NOT believe that everyone “goes to Heaven”!

There is only one author, our apostle Paul, who writes anything about an expectation of “going to heaven”, or  to use a pattern of sound words “having a celestial allotment“.  It is important to note that there is a difference between the “Kingdom OF heaven” (A kingdom on earth) and the Kingdom IN heaven”. (A kingdom in the celestial realm)

Remember this:

“It will greatly help you to understand scripture if you note – no only what is spoken and written, but of whom and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goes before and what follows.”
–Miles Coverdale

With the exception of Paul’s letters (Acts -Philemon) all scripture is addressed to Israel and all promises and expectations recorded in all scriptures outside of Paul’s letters are given to Israel ONLY. As members of the Body of Christ, we have no part in Israel’s promises, and we were never under Israel’s law.  This includes the Levitical as well as the Mosaic Law, which includes the 10 commandments. (Something to remember, all scripture is for us, not all scripture is addressed TO us!

Even so, the following is absolutely true:

“All scripture is inspired by God, and is beneficial for teaching, for exposure, for correction, for discipline in righteousness, that the man of God may be equipped, fitted out for every good act.” 2 Tim 3:16-17

I DO believe in God’s judgments , something that “universalists” do not. All sin and evil will be dealt with justly. But Gods justice will be delivered with love.  Gods judgments, even better than those of any loving earthly father, are remedial in nature, they are never punitive. Those whose names are not found in the book of life at the Great White Thrown Judgment are cast into the lake of fire, yes.  The Lake of Fire is described in scripture as “the second death“.  The dead know nothing, they are in “the unseen” until they are brought back to life by God. (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Also of note here, if you pay attention to Gods word as you read about the White Throne Judgment, you will see that those judged are judged by their acts, not their faith, or lack of it.

Now as to the confusion…

Heaven is not the end of Gods’ plan, there is so much more! “Heaven and earth shall pass away” (Matt 24:35, Mar 13:31, Luk 21:33) and after we have completed our service “in heaven”, at the “consummation“, death (including the second death) will be abolished. (1 Corinthians 15:21-28) Leaving all who were dead alive again and subject to Christ.  This happens right before He (Christ) hands those who have been subjected to him (all of creation) over to God the Father, who then will become “ALL-IN-ALL”.  The body of Christ “spends two entire ages (1,000 year millennial age, and then the age during the new heavens and earth) in “heaven” being Gods chosen instruments for reconciling celestial beings back to Christ.  All Israel will be saved, but their expectation is earthly, ours is celestial.  Those who were judged at the great WHITE thrown judgment and cast into the lake of fire do not live again until after heaven and earth have passed away.

Rightly dividing the word:

(2 Tim 2:15)   – “Study to shew thyself approved”

Paul was given a completely different gospel.  “My gospel“, he calls it, and the Gospel of our (the body of Christ) salvation was given to Paul alone, it was given to him by our risen and glorified Savior after the cross and is distinctly different than the gospel given during Christ’s earthly ministry when the law was still in effect. Up until that time (Paul’s separation in Acts on the road to Damascus) the old covenant gospel was still in effect.

Paul is the only one who did not know Christ after the flesh and he was given a different gospel for us, the body.  Paul’s gospel is a gospel of Grace, apart from works whereas the gospel given to the 12 apostles (as James writes) involves faith AND works. So much confusion comes from trying to mix things that should not be mixed.  Here is why Paul tells us we need to rightly divide the truth. Truth for Israel (the bride), and the truth for us (the body).

Paul tells us we are to “rightly divide the word of truth“, to have “a pattern of sound words“, and to “distinguish things that differ” but in systematic Christianity the opposite is true, all truth is mixed together, unsound worldly unscriptural terms are used, and there is no distinguishing the things that differ. I guess I would say that most of Christendom is mythtaken, to put it nicely.  I know what you believe, friend, I too once believed what you did.

It is my prayer that God may grant you a willingness to set aside what you have been taught and have accepted as truth in order that

the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him“. (Eph1:17)

Now, I will attempt to address your short list of scripture verses thoughtfully before giving you my short list.

Philippians 2:9-11 (ESV)

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

First of all, the Greek work translated to “confess” in this passage is ἐξομολογέω (exomologeō) and it means “to agree fully: – confess, profess, promise.  It is much more than just admitting or confessing but a sincere profession of belief!  Every knee will bow and every tongue will profess Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

These verses, 9-11 are pretty clear, with no need for any commentary by me or anyone else, it is only if one does not believe what God has written that one must attempt to explain these verses away.

This Confession is the Work of God’s Spirit.

“Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit” (I Corinthians 12:3).

Every man will say (with joy) that Jesus is Lord and receive the Holy Spirit according to Phil 2:9-11.

Now to address verses often presented to limit the work of Christ to only a few:

John 1:12

This was written to Israel, not us and has nothing to do with salvation but even if it did, on the day that is spoken of in Phil 2:9-11, the day every last tongue  has confessed Christ as Lord,  all will then be qualified anyway as Corinthians 12:3 affirms than none may confess Christ apart from the Holy spirit.

Romans 10:9

In the end, everyone will confess with their mouth and believe in Christ therefore they shall see salvation.  You will note that there is no time constraint here.  It is degenerate theology that teaches that this must happen during this lifetime.  In 1 Corinthians 15:23 it explains this, each in their own order or class.  We who believe in this lifetime are the first fruits and chosen to later help bring in the latter harvests.

1 John 5: 11 -12

The version quoted from is typically a paraphrase translation, not a literal translation and the word translated to eternal in this verse (αἰώνιος [aiōnios]) does not faithfully communicate what God has written in the inspired word.  This Greek word alone never means eternal or everlasting but a specific period of time with a beginning and an end.  In this case, “eonial life” refers to life during the two ages (eons) when Israel is ruling with Christ on earth, and we are “in heaven”.    I’ve spend countless hours studying this and could send you volumes of material in just this one word and how it is mistranslated in most (not all) English translations.  Most people are unwilling to go through the trouble of researching this, it takes a great deal of time and effort

More faithfully translated it reads:

“And this is the testimony that God gives us life eonian, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the [eonian] life; he who has not the Son of God has not the life.” (CLV)

This is true, but this is not the end.  If you do not have life, you are dead.  In the end (1 Corinthians 15:21-28) death will be abolished leaving nothing but life for those who missed out on “being in heaven”.  What happens after Heaven, when God is “all-in-all”?  Scripture does not tell us so we will just have to wait and see.  But one thing is for sure my friend, none of your friends or loved ones will be lost forever.  They may be lost for “the eons” that proceed this one, but in the end, all will be reconciled back to God the Father through the blood of our Savior.

Here is a very short list of scripture verses that clearly contradict what you have been taught by the christian religion: (May God be true, and every man a liar, especially those who have graduated from man-made seminary schools)

“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed” (Genesis 12:2, 3).

“All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee” (Psalm 22:27).

“The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities” (Psalm 103:8-10).

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it” (Isaiah 2:2).

“Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God” (Luke 3:5,6).

“That was the true Light [Jesus Christ], which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9).

“The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto Him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world“ (John 1:29).

“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me” (John 12:32).

“Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began” (Acts 3:21).

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of One the free gift cameupon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall many be made righteous”(Romans 5:17-19).

“For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen” (Romans 11:30-36).

“For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming. Then cometh the end, when He shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign, till He hath put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For He hath put all things under His feet. But when He saith all things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is excepted, which did put all things under Him. And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.” (I Corinthians 15:21-28).

“For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead … To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (II Corinthians 5:14,19).

“And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven” (Colossians 1:20).

“Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time” (I Timothy 2:6).

“For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, Who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe” (I Timothy 4:10).

“And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” (I John 2:2).

Regarding the teaching of eternal torment:

(God causing or allowing billions to suffer forever?  This verse alone disproves that doctrine of demons)

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away“ (Revelation 21:4).

Traditions of man say billions will cry out and be in pain (in ‘hell’) for all eternity, which clearly contradicts the above verse.

And I will leave you with this gem by our Apostle Paul:

“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him” (Ephesians 1:10).

In Christ,

Like People, Like Priest

Like People, Like Priest

“Like people, like priest” (Hosea 4:9).

smart-preachersWe have a similar statement in Isaiah 24:2, “as with the people so with the priest.” The point that the prophets are aiming at is that the priests, the religious teachers, will be like the people. This is a truth that is confirmed by other Scriptures, and is plainly apparent in the days in which we live.

“The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (II Timothy 4:3,4).

In this respect as in commercial affairs, “supply and demand are equal.” The people demand “smart” preachers who will “speak unto them smooth things,” and here you have them in great abundance in the nominal Christian ministry of today to supply this demand. If only a rich “hire”(Micah 3:11) and a good “pasture” (Jeremiah 23:1) be provided, the “clergy” will accommodate themselves in the unimportant matter of morals and religion to the fancy of the people. Truly, “like people, like priests.”

Patriot No More

Patriot No More

comrade-putout-putin-jokePatriotism is in the air, it is election time and we are being bombarded with TV and Radio ads, junk mail, internet ads, billboards, and yard signs promoting one candidate or another.  My wife works for a company that requires that she belong to a union, I used to be a card carrying member of the NRA and a registered republican.  Every day the mailman brings the union mailers telling us how the republicans must be stopped, and republican mailers telling us how we must act to stop the democrats from destroying our country.  Sometimes I wonder what the mailman thinks of our household based on the junk mail he has to deliver every day.   He must wonder which way we lean, left or right.

I used to lean right, hard conservative Christian right, but that was a long while ago.  Today I am free of that crap, I no longer participate in politics at all.  I used to debate with my liberal friends, I felt it my patriotic duty to spread ‘conservative principals’ and promote ‘Christian values’.  I would watch the “liberal television media” and shout at the television when I felt that they were distorting the truth.  I listened to right wing talk radio and I shunned “Liberal” talk radio.   I was a bible believing Christian who thought he had to stand up for all that was right and good, I believed that God needed my help to fight the good fight, and of course I was a proud American and a Patriot!

I Once Was Blind

I remember asking a “progressive” friend once, “Aren’t you proud to be an American”?  I was shocked to hear him admit that he was not.  It’s funny really when I think about it now, I was such an idiot at the time.  One day my unpatriotic friend shared a cartoon with me.  In the cartoon there were two potted plants next to each other.  The pots were identical and the plant in the pot on the left was saying to the plant in the pot on the right “I am proud I was planted in this pot, and not that pot”.  There was a caption at the bottom that read “Patriotism”.  It was about then that it started to occur to me how ridiculous the idea of patriotism really is.  How can I have pride in the fact they I was born in the United States?  I had nothing to do with where I was born, did you?  Don’t get me wrong, I am very glad that I was born here and not someplace else, but as I said, I can take no credit in being an American, I was born one.   I guess someone who moved her from another country and studied to meet the requirements could take some pride in being an American, but if you were born here, you have nothing to be proud of.  I don’t think I would want to live in any other country, but I can no longer identify as a proud American.  I am an American, not by choice but by birth.   God chose the pot I was planted in, not me.  It would be silly for me to express any amount of pride in being an American.

But Now I See

Up until about seven years ago, everything that I believed was taken from other people.  I considered myself to be open minded.  I adopted my beliefs from many places.  Many of my beliefs came from my parents, many from life experiences, and the rest came from the ideas of others that seemed to make sense to me.  Over a lifetime I had accumulated a set of ideals that I felt were pretty solid.  I later discovered that, with the exception of the ideas of right and wrong that my parents taught me when I was young, almost everything else I had adopted as truth was crap, especially the things that my political party and my religion had taught me.

Craptastic

“God is Love” and “I hate to break it to you, but non-christians are going to burn in hell for eternity.”  Say What?  How can these two things be true?  Well, William H, a seminary student and prayer warrior, made it his mission to convince me that both of these things were in fact truth.  William sure knew how to quote from his English translation of the sacred scriptures.  He had an arsenal of verses to support his beliefs.  He could quote scripture and the ‘church fathers’ and he was not joking around, he was dead serious.  I respected William, after all, he sounded so devout and sincere when he prayed.  The biggest obstacle he faced with me was that of everything that I knew to be true, one thing was solid.  “God Is Love”!  This was the one thing I knew I could count on.  Not just because my parents taught me this as a child but because I had faith.  And not the fake plastic faith of religion, but a true faith. The kind that can only be given by God Himself.  So as great and as eloquent, and as sincere as he sounded, I had to call bullshit.

So, as William would present verses to support his faith in eternal torments, all I could do was poke logical holes in the things he presented as proof.  All I had to combat his religious training was my God given faith, I seemed to be outmatched.  I was so wrong. I went home and got on my knees and I had a sincere conversation with the God of my faith.  “God”, I said.  “I can’t reconcile my belief that you ARE love, with the teaching of eternal torment.” I went on.  “I can’t believe that you could cause, or even allow anyone that you love to be tortured without end!”  I announced firmly.  “I believe that the bible is your inspired word, and I want to know that what I believe in my heart to be true is not simply wishful thinking.”  I continued.  “I want to know that there is a scriptural basis for what I know in my heart to be true.” I finished.

Well, God answered my prayer, he gave me the scriptural proof that I asked for and in the process destroyed pretty much everything else that I believed.  Everything other than “God is Love” had to be tossed in the trash, where it all belonged.  Everything that William, that the ‘church fathers’, that my pastor and my ‘church’ had taught me was not only wrong, it was completely contrary to the truth.  It took several years for me to shed all garbage that I had accepted as truth.

Free At Last

Once I lost my religion and learned that God is in control of all things, my life began to change for the better.  I learned that scripture actually teaches that Christ is the savior of all mankind, l learned that all is of God.   I discovered that Christ was completely successful on the cross. I came to believe that God does not need my help or require my obedience.  I’ve learned that God is currently conciliated to the world and is no longer holding their offenses against them.  I learned that I am not charged with fighting the good fight, or winning souls for Christ.  I learned that God places all of our leaders in power.  He placed Ronald Regan, and He placed Barrack Obama, both for his good purpose.  I am not charged with defending against the democrats or the republicans! I learned that my citizenship is nowhere on this planet, but rather in the celestials.  I learned that I don’t have any business complaining or wringing my hands over the state of the nation or the world because all is going according to His perfect plan and He knows what He is doing.  I am an ambassador of Grace today, and ambassadors don’t participate in the politics of their host nation.  So I am free at last.  I get to just trust God and rest in the knowledge that God is in control and that His plans end well for all creation.  I am free from patriotism, from world politics, national politics, and even local politics.  I am free from religious legalism and the constant treadmill that keeps people in bondage to man and its victims focused on themselves rather than what Christ has accomplished.  I am free from guilt, free from sin, free from religious and political bondage.

So that’s the story about how I lost my patriotism and gained my freedom in Christ, and all it took was some God given faith.  A faith based in one solid fact.  “God is Love”.   I can’t wait to see who God picks in the upcoming election.

Just Trust Him

Just Trust Him

sufferingTrust Him. When you have done that, you are living the life of grace. No matter what happens to you in the course of that trusting – no matter how many waverings you may have, no matter how many suspicions that you have bought a poke with no pig in it, no matter how much heaviness and sadness your lapses, vices, indispositions, and bratty whining may cause you – you simply believe that somebody else, by His death and resurrection, has made it all right, and you just say “Thank you” and shut up.

The whole slop-closet full of mildewed performances (which is all you have to offer) is simply your death; it is Jesus who is your life. If He refused to condemn you because your works were rotten, He certainly isn’t going to flunk you because your faith isn’t so hot. You can fail utterly, therefore, and still live the life of grace. You can fold up spiritually, morally, or intellectually and still be safe. Because at the very worst, all you can be is dead – and for Him Who is the Resurrection and the Life, that just makes you His cup of tea.
